Pros: More efficient packing, uniform tab connections, thermal characteristics, uniform stack pressure, viable to larger sizes
Cons: More expensive to manufacture, cell cases heavier.
Pouch Cell:
Pros: Excellent energy, efficient packing, true prismatic or mandrel wound, good thermal characteristics, viable to larger sizes, safer, inexpensive as compared to hard case.
Cons: Not as robust, needs good battery design for good stack pressure.
Wound Cells:
Pros: Lighter cell cases, lower manufacturing and part costs, fewer parts, easier manufacturing
Cons: Limited size and shape, less efficient packing, battery level thermal control, tab connections and wrap length limit size
